Choose when D3 should start conversations

While, you can send and receive messages from Riptide anytime you want, you can control when D3 is allowed to start conversations automatically for you by:


To turn Dispatch ON/OFF:

By default Dispatch is set to OFF so D3 can not start conversations automatically for you.

  • Tap your name in the upper right corner and select 'My Profile'
  • Select the 'Dispatch' tab
  • Next to your AAA Facility ID is the switch
  • Toggle it ON/OFF

If you manage multiple facilities, you can control whether you want D3 starting conversations for any or all of the facilities.


To set Hours of Operation:

Use Hours of Operation to control the days and times when D3 should be starting conversations. Usually, you want to start conversations only when you have a dispatcher on call to follow-up.

  • Tap your name in the upper right corner and select 'My Profile'
  • Select the 'Hours' tab
  • For each day, toggle 'Open' or 'Closed'
  • Set the start time and end time for the day.

To set holidays, switch from 'Normal' to 'Special' and pick the day off the calendar to set the hours of operation. Whatever hours you set on a special day will override your normal hours of operation.


Send the After-Hours message:

The After-Hours message is sent automatically in response to a text from a Member that's received outside of Hours of Operation or if Dispatch is OFF. Riptide only sends the message once every 24 hours to a give Member; so if a Member sends you several texts, they will only get the After-Hours message once.
